Connect Slack
Post a message to a Slack channel when an automation finishes, fails or finds something.
- 1
Go to api.slack.com/apps and choose Create New App → From scratch; name it "Celers" and pick your workspace.
- 2
Open Incoming Webhooks, switch Activate Incoming Webhooks on, and press Add New Webhook to Workspace.
- 3
Choose the channel the messages go to and press Allow. Copy the Webhook URL (it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/).
- 4
In the builder, drag the app's step from Apps in the step library onto the board, open it, and under Connection choose New….
- 5
Give the connection a name (e.g. "Sales team"), paste what you copied and press Save on this computer. Choose the action and fill its fields; {{row["Column"]}} uses a value from the current row.
Good to know
- One webhook posts to one channel: make one per channel.
- Anyone with the address can post to the channel, so keep it secret; Celers keeps it in this computer's credential store.
